Cleaner production initiatives are not easy to execute due to the culture of productivity which, in most cases, does not allow to see factors beyond the rates of productivity or financial monitoring.
However in Cauca, Colombia, an environmental group of a sugar wit with great awareness of sustainability, planted 5 hectares of sugar cane with our technology, using the soil biorremediator TerreOrganics, and compost treated with it.
The harvest of the cane showed excellent results and the production of the recent sowing oscillated by 12% above and below the system of the conventional production. However, considering the fact that it is the first clean crop to be made in that terrain in over 20 years, it projects these lands to a future in which organic productions will take place in a few years.
